Canoe/Kayaking Trip

What a great way to kick of the summer by being on the water. This past weekend we went with a group of friends canoeing/kayaking on the Coosa River in Wetumpka, AL. It was so much fun! I haven't canoed since I was probably 13 and that was at church camp. Rob and his family always went canoeing on the summer weekends so he was a pro. Everyone got a kayak except for Rob and I, we got a canoe. I liked the canoe b/c you had more room and they didn't flip over as easily. There were a few rapids we had to go through and everyone kept telling us that we would flip, and if you flip in a canoe it is hard to get back in a canoe. We never flipped. Rob and I worked great together. He was a little worried about me, like whether i would have fun or not since I am a girly girl, but i have to say i was proud of myself. We started on the river at about 9:45 and got done around 3:30. We would stop at rocks every now and then and get in the water to cool off and eat our packed lunches. Rob and I are ready to go again, it was so much fun. This is something we will probably do with our family one day.

This trip to the river was a great way to kick off our summer. Now we are looking forward to our week long vacation in Destin in about 2 wks and I can't wait. I hope everyone is having a great summer so far and not getting to hot.

5 Years Together & Our First Wedding Anniversary!

On Sunday May 17 one year ago, we said our vows and promised to be with each other till death do us part. When they pronounced us husband and wife those were the best words I have ever heard! May 17, 2008 was the best day of my life! It was such a beautiful day, the weather was perfect and everything went as planned. Some people say that the first year of marriage is the hardest, but I disagree. Rob and I have had a wonderful first year of marriage and we love each other more and more each day. I couldn't imagine spending the rest of my life without this man. Our lives are just beginning, we have so many more memories to make and I look forward to making them with the man I love.

Today May 22 we celebrate 5 years of being together. It's funny to think back 5 years ago when we first met, all the funny stories and memories we made. If you can't tell, I LOVE this man!

A Recap of our weekend...

This past weekend we headed to Tuscaloosa to see my sister and brother-in-law graduate from the University of Alabama. My sister got her Masters in Journalism and my brother-in-law graduated from Law School. We are all so very proud of them, they have worked really hard.

My sister Sara and I went up Friday night, it was a fun night with wine, pizza and ice cream and some great sister time. My parents came on Saturday morning. It was a LONG day of graduation. It started with my sisters graduation at 1:30, it ended around 3:45. My brother-in-law's graduation started at 5:30. We didn't have time to head home between graduations so we grabbed a snack at Arby's and then proceeded to Cole's(my brother-in-law) graduation. It ended around 6:45 or so and you know we had to take some pictures of course. We left the school a little after 7:30 b/c we had a reservation at 7:30 for dinner. Dinner was GREAT!! We ate at Indian Hill Country Club(i think that is the name). The food and company were wonderful. We got to eat and visit with Cole's family which we probably haven't done in about 4 years.

All in all the weekend was tiring but wonderful. I wouldn't have missed it for the world. We are so absolutely blessed with such an amazing family. I continue to thank God everyday for them.
Here are a few pictures from the weekend:

This coming up weekend Rob and I will be heading to Montgomery for our good friends Leon & Amanda's wedding. Both of us are in the wedding. We will also be celebrating our 1 year anniversary on Sunday. I can't believe it's almost been 1 year. I will have a post on this weekend later.

It's been awhile...

It has been a little bit since my last post. Not much has been going on in the Mosley household. I went home to Monroeville about two weeks ago and had so much fun hanging out with my mom. I always love when I am able to go home. This past weekend Rob and I had some friends come in town and had a great time. I had this past Monday off for Conferderate Memorial Day, yes i know crazy right!? Working for the county, I get great holidays!! This past Sunday Rob and I bought a new computer which we absolutely LOVE!! It's an HP and we got a 23in. moniter. I don't know much about computers but this one is great. Our old computer had so many problems.
That is about all that has been happening around here, i know nothing exciting. We are just getting ready for our good friends Amanda & Leon's wedding coming up in a few weeks. They are actually getting married the same weekend we did a year ago. Hope everyone is doing well. As soon as something exciting happens I will post again...haha.

My first plant...

It is Good Friday and I have the day off work so I decided that I would plant something. Our front porch needs a pretty pot and some flowers. So I called my mom to find out what I should plant and what kind of potting soil I would need. I then proceeded to head to Lowe's, who knew there would be so many choices. I chose geraniums, but i wasn't sure if I should get the hanging basket and plant it in a pot or if I should get the individual ones. That's when I called mom again to find out which would be best. I ended up getting the hanging basket. Then it was off to find the potting soil, all i saw were these HUGE bags of potting soil. I knew I didn't need that big of a bag, so here I go again I call my mom to ask her. I got everything I needed so I headed home to begin potting my plant. Keep in mind this is the first plant that I have EVER planted. I am not much of a yard worker, i just take care of the inside of the house, but I figured I should learn sometime. I have had plants before that my mom planted for me but they always end up dying b/c I would forget to water it...hehe. I called my mom once more to find out just how much soil to put in the pot and then proceeded to plant. I only had to call my mom one more time after that to ask her one more question but I think that I did a pretty good job for my first plant. Hopefully there will be many more to come. I hope that everyone has a WONDERFUL Good Friday and a very Happy Easter!!

Girls Weekend!

This past weekend we had the first annual girls weekend at the beach. It was the girls in my family, me, my mom, my sister Sara, my cousins and my aunt. We went to Seaside, Fl. and had a great time. I left Troy Friday morning and went to pick my mom up in Monroeville and then we headed to Seaside. We got there around 2 Friday afternoon and it was gorgeous! As soon as we got there I ate a bite of lunch the proceeded to the beach to soak up some of the sun. Saturday morning we went to a Pilates class. Whoa...i have never done Pilates before and it was hard. I worked muscles i don't think i have worked before..haha. It was a little overcast on Saturday but I still managed to soak up some sun. We had a blast, it was so wonderful getting to visit with my aunt and my cousins and also my mom and my sister. We are going to try to start making this an annual trip. I absolutely LOVE the beach, it is so relaxing! Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Peddlin' For A Cure

My wonderful aunt is doing a 90 mile bike ride in honor of my mom. It is for Relay For Life and to raise money for cancer research. The ride starts in Monroeville, Al. and ends somewhere in Mobile, Al. I think the ride is sometime in April. Cancer is a disease that I know affects a lot of people and without the money for the research we wouldn't have some of the treatments that are available today. There is a website for Peddlin For A Cure to donate money or even just your prayers for these riders would be much appreciated. Go to this site to see why my aunt is riding http://tiny.cc/Peddlinforacure . This is something that is very dear to my heart.
