Avatar and A Change.

Last night Rob, my sister Sara and I went to the movies and saw "Avatar". My sister had already seen it and said it was great. And some of our other friends had seen it and said it was great, so before it left the theaters we wanted to see it so we could experience the movie. When I saw the previews for the movie, I wasn't really that interested in seeing it. It just didn't look like my type of movie. Let me just tell you, if you haven't seen this movie you should go now and see it! It was GREAT!! It's 3D and just the whole experience and the graphics were amazing. I'm ready to go watch it again.

Please excuse the way my blog looks right now. I am in the process of changing some things. It takes a little while to do it and right now I am tired of sitting at the computer. I just didn't want anyone to think i was going to leave it looking like this. I hope everyone is have a lovely rainy Saturday. I have been enjoying laying around with my husband and Allie dog.

Christmas, New Year's and a China Cabinet!

Ok, I know it's been a while since I have posted. Now that the busyness of Christmas is over I will try to get better at posting more often. This is just going to be a random post about Christmas and other things that have been going on.

We had such a wonderful Christmas. We start off in Auburn Christmas Eve with my dads side of the family and then Christmas Day we head to Birmingham to be with my moms side of the family. We are so blessed to have such a amazing family. We had a great Christmas with a few surprises! The day after Christmas I got up with my mom at 6 A.M. and we headed out to a few of the Christmas sales. Usually the day after Christmas stores open super early so you have to be there when they are open to get the good deals. That was not the case this year. Mom and I were going really early and there were only a few places open. Most places didn't open til like 8 or 9. We got a few good things, It was just fun spending that time with my mom. The day after Christmas is my sister Anna's birthday so we all gathered for lunch at Botega to celebrate. Afterwards we did a little shopping. All in all it was a great Christmas spent with great family! I am sorry that I didn't take any pictures at Christmas.

New Years, Rob and I went to Montgomery to celebrate with our friends Amanda & Leon. We met up with a few other couples to eat dinner and then we headed to Amanda and Leon's to ring in the new year. We didn't do anything crazy, just watched the ball drop on tv and then we tried to stay up til 12 our time so we could ring in the new year then go to bed...haha, we are gettting old. 2009 sure did go by quickly but I am excited to see what 2010 will bring.

My cousin Julie and her husband Clay just bought a new house in Birmingham so before they moved in they wanted to get rid of a few things they didn't need anymore. One of those thing just so happened to be this corner china cabinet. Our dining room in our house in Troy is pretty small so in order to be able to fit a table in there we would need a corner china cabinet so it wouldn't take up so much room. Well, my cousin offered to sell us hers and I couldn't have been more excited. It wouldn't fit in my car of course so they loaded it in my moms car and my mom brought it to Troy. When we got it put in it's place and all cleaned up and everything put in it, it looks GREAT!! I am so excited to finally have a place to put all my beautiful crystal and china I got when we got married. It had been stored under one of our guest beds and now I can display it. Here are some pictures of this great china cabinet.

I hope that everyone had a great Holiday! And I hope everyone has had a great start to the new year! Be back soon!

Entryway

I have been looking for something for our entryway for a while. It has been bare ever since we moved into our house. I wanted to get an antique and I just hadn't found the right piece. A few weekends ago I went home for a good friends bridal shower and my mom and I decided we would head up to the antique store in my hometown. We started looking around and we found the perfect piece of furniture to go in our entryway. I wanted something with some drawers and cabinets so I could store things in it, I always need more storage space. I am so excited about this piece. Here are some pictures of what the entryway looked like before and after.

Now all I need is a pretty mirror to put above it and I hope to find one this weekend!

Also this past weekend my husband went with one of his good friends down to New Orleans to the Saints vs. Cowboys game. He has never been to an NFL game before and he said he had a blast and it was such a great experience. He ate some good food and hung out with some good friends. I was a little jealous at first but I am glad he got to go and experience that and that he had a good time.

I hope that everyone has a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!! We are off to Auburn Thursday and Birmingham Friday! I hope everyone has a very safe Hoilday!!

Our Christmas Decorations!

This post is long overdue. I have had my Christmas decorations up since the weekend after Thanksgiving and I am just now getting around to posting them. Ever since the week before Thanksgiving, we have had something to do every weekend! Rob and I set out to get our Christmas tree and I think we got a very pretty one. We brought it home and started decorating it, Rob actually helped out this year with the decorating...haha. I love this time of year, Christmas music and decorations, the only thing I don't like about it is the busyness of the season. I am going post a few pictures of our Christmas decorations this year.

Getting the tree.

Our beautiful Tree!

Rob and I putting the lights on the tree!

This box is just some of our ornaments

Rob and I putting ornaments on the tree and Allie checking everything out.

These are two of my favorite ornaments. The first one is our Auburn ornament(WAR EAGLE) and then the other one is the ornament we brought back from our honeymoon in St. Lucia.

Our front door, I love our wreath that my mom got for us and then the two lighted trees by the door I got at Costco last year.

A few of the decorations around our house.

And the stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that St. Nick would soon be there.

Thankful

It is the day before Thanksgiving and I just wanted to post a few things that I am always thankful for. I am THANKFUL for mine and Rob's health. I am THANKFUL that we have a roof over our heads and food on the table. I am THANKFUL that Rob and I both have good jobs. I am THANKFUL for our little Allie girl, who brings joy to our life everyday. I am THANKFUL for my wonderful loving husband, I love him more and more everyday. I am also THANKFUL for my amazing family, without them I don't know where I would be. They are loving and supportive, I am very lucky to have such a great family.

I think in everyday life we forget what all we are thankful for. When something isn't going the way we would like it to, we have to remember all the things that we do have in our life to be THANKFUL for. So this Thanksgiving be sure to remember all things and people in your life that you are THANKFUL for.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving!!!!

A Special Day

Two years ago today I got engaged! Here is the story.

First of all my mom was very sneaky and had sent the ring back to troy with my sister in a box with a shirt for Rob. My sister didn't know what was in the box except for a shirt. Mom had said it was an early Christmas present, I had no clue the ring was in the box with the shirt until later.

It all started with a call to my dad, roses and a note
On November 7,2007 I was sitting at work when I received a dozen red roses with a note that read "Dinner tonight? Love Rob." Well of course I thought this was it, he is going to propose at dinner tonight. I was so giddy the rest of the day. I get home and we head to dinner. Rob had to work that night at 11:00 so we couldn't go out of town to dinner so we just went to The Pines restaurant here in Troy. The whole dinner I am sitting there just waiting for him to pop the question. I was looking in my salad, my drink everywhere for a ring. Dinner was over and I still had no ring :(. We walked out of the restaurant and I didn't talk to Rob the whole way home. I was just thinking, how in the world could he trick me like this. We get home and he tells me that he is taking Allie(our minature dachshund) out to use the bathroom, I just said ok and headed back to the bedroom to change clothes. As I am changing clothes I hear Rob yell telling me to come in the den because Allie had something on her and he didn't know what it was. As I am walking down the hall I yell, "what in the world did you do to her." When I get in the den I look down at Allie and there is a bright shiny ring on her collar. At that point I felt bad for being mad at him. I start yelling, are you serious, are you serious. Rob gets the ring off Allie's collar and gets on one knee and proceeds to stay a bunch of sweet things that i just can't remember b/c I was too excited. He asked me to marry him and of course I said YES! After he put the ring on my finger, I am crying and running in place I was so excited. Then I proceed to call my sister to come take pictures and then I call mom my to tell her I am engaged. She knew is was coming soon but she wasn't sure when, she was thrilled. I then stayed on the phone just about all night calling all my family and friends to tell them the good news.
That was one of the best days of my life other than my wedding day. I am now married to my best friend and an amazing man. I love him with all my heart!

A repost of Lady Antebellum photos and videos

I am going to repost the Lady Antebellum photos because the collage I made of them you can't really see them and it won't let you click on them to make them bigger. I am also going to try to post the videos.

This might be the last time I post videos, they took way too long to upload!

Peanut Festival & Lady Antebellum

This past Sunday we went to Dothan to the Peanut Festival with some of our good friends Matt & Jennifer. We have never been to the Peanut Festival before, so this was a first. I felt like I was little again. We just walked around enjoying the atmosphere. Of course there were vendors everywhere selling corndogs, funnel cakes, fried snickers, cotton candy, etc...
We ended up getting a corndog and a funnel cake. I couldn't go to the fair and not get a funnel cake, I haven't had one in years and it was as good as I remembered.
Then you have the games that you can play to win prizes such as stuff animals, you know as a kid you loved those games but now you know they just rip you off.
Look what ride they still have, the Sizzler. I used to love that ride, it was one of my favorites.
We thought about going on the Ferris Wheel, didn't you all love the Ferris Wheel when you were younger? We didn't go on it though because we had to get to the show.

Lady Antebellum, one of my FAVORITE groups was performing at the Peanut Festival so we went over to the Ampitheater to watch them. It was such an amazing show and they performed a lot of good songs. If you have never heard them you really should, especailly if you like country music. Here a few pictures from the show, i took some video with my camera too and i will try to post them.

Ok so I tried to post some video that i took of the concert, but it is taking FOREVER to upload and my husband is wanting to get on the computer. I will put the videos up on another post so that you can hear just how good they are.
